Mediocre employees can make great managers … real world examples!
In my most recent blog post, which you can find here, I discussed the fact that the best employees do not necessarily make the best managers. And that this fact is perfectly okay. I also claimed that aptitude, fit, and personal alignment were crucial for any position or function, including management.
Do NOT promote your best employees into management positions …
… without seriously considering your best employees’ abilities to perform well in a managerial capacity. Your best employees are your best employees because they have the technical abilities required to outperform others in the particular work they engage.
“Escaping” the 9-5 Lifestyle
Spoiler alert: there is no escaping the 9-5 lifestyle! And that’s a good thing, trust me. Every day, you are allotted eight hours between 9:00am and 5:00pm. With these eight hours, you can do anything you want, and embrace any lifestyle you want to embrace within these hours.
