IQ vs. EQ vs. the “New Q” (the AI Factor)

As society progresses, so does its understanding of human interaction and development.

IQ, which I associate as NIQ, represents one’s Natural Intelligence.  This provides the baseline of one’s value-add to work, relationships, and leisure.

EQ, which is receiving an increasingly larger focus in business and academic spotlights, represents one’s Emotional Intelligence.  This shapes the application and potential of one’s Natural Intelligence in the framework of social influence, human engagement, and situational awareness.

The “New Q,” which I identify as NAIQ, represents the culmination, and progression, of IQ and EQ.  This NAIQ integrates Natural Intelligence (N) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into a singular intellectual capacity, facilitated by one’s level of emotional intelligence in blending natural and artificial intelligence together.  This blending expresses artificial intelligence as the organic development of NIQ, and integrates the powerful new advantages of artificial intelligence within the human psyche.

Visualize your IQ as your tool belt and corresponding tools.  These tools represent the resources that are at your disposal for construction projects, just like your natural intelligence can be leveraged for your career and personal life.

Visualize your EQ as the business partners you engage and the contracts you secure for your construction projects.  In order to grow a thriving business and increase your presence in the community, you must leverage social influence, business engagement, and situational awareness to guide the partnerships you develop, the contracts you accept, and the opportunities that you refuse.

Visualize your NAIQ as your decision-making domain for enhancing, growing, and/or scaling your business.  You have a world of artificial intelligence at your disposal, ranging from newer and better tools, to integrated platforms for your backend office recordkeeping, to contract facilitation and e-signature services.  This world of AI is large, vast, and limitless.  You must decide which AI tools, platforms, and services will most help your business.  These types of decisions require a blend of natural intelligence, emotional intelligence, and understanding of artificial intelligence, particularly in narrow AI.  You must understand how you want your business to develop, which AI offerings are most applicable to your needs, and what is required to mesh your employees, business partners, and strategic vision with the world of AI.  AI means absolutely nothing for your business if you don’t use it correctly … which is where your IQ and EQ come into play.

Artificial intelligence is a game changer for business practice.  However, without NAIQ, you won’t be able to adapt to the rules, field your team, or win the championship.  AI is another tool on your tool belt, which makes sense … after all, artificial intelligence is simply an extension of our natural intelligence.  When you connect your IQ and knowledge of AI, you’re simply connecting a universal, progressive spectrum of intelligence.  When this spectrum is enhanced with your EQ, you effectively create an NAIQ that can outpace its components and synergistically offer value to your business, your relationships, and your personal life.

Don’t be afraid of artificial intelligence.  It’s simply an advanced progression of humanity’s natural intelligence.  Once you blend your IQ, EQ, and AI knowledge, you will harness your NAIQ and realize unprecedented value in your business practice and opportunities.

What do you need to improve upon today?  Can you better equip your tools (your IQ) with narrow AI?  Can you choose better business partners, based on their value-add in your community and in future deals (blend of EQ and general understanding of AI alignment)?  Although there are many things to consider, in relation to your NAIQ, the methodology for leveraging your NAIQ is simple: optimize your IQ, apply your EQ, and utilize AI to enhance and elevate your other “Q’s.”  That’s NAIQ in a nutshell.
